Purl Cat Ear Water Fountain
You've watched that water bowl.
Small worries, every single day. Here's how Purl takes them off your mind.
The water level barely moves all day. Is your cat even drinking?
Moving water gives your cat a reason to stop by. On the Clear version, you can watch the level go down.
6 a.m., and your cat is sitting in the sink, waiting for you to turn on the tap.
Running water all day, even while you're at work. No tap, and no waiting for you.
By lunchtime, hair and dust are floating in the water bowl.
A filter catches hair and bits before the water comes back up.
Stop being your cat's personal faucet.
Plenty of cats would rather drink from a running tap than a still bowl. Cute at first. Less cute when you're the one turning it on every morning, and nobody's home to do it while you're at work. Purl keeps the water moving on its own, all day, right where your cat can find it.
Why moving water works.
Many cats are drawn to water that moves and makes a gentle trickle. Here's what happens inside Purl.
The pump pushes water up
A small pump sits under the water and keeps it circulating all day. Keep the level between MIN and MAX.
The filter catches hair and bits
Water passes the replaceable filter on its way back up, so floating hair and dust get trapped instead of drunk.
Water flows out between the ears
It spills from the top into a shallow dish, so your cat can drink from the stream or the still water around it.
A fountain you won't want to hide.
Pick the one that fits your space.
Clear
See the water move. See when it's time to top up.
White
Soft and simple. Blends into any kitchen.
Black
Sleek against wood floors and dark furniture.
Most cats need a few days. Here's the plan.
Some cats drink the first day. Many are suspicious of anything new that hums. This is the routine we suggest: no forcing, no rush.
Wash the fountain and rinse the filter to take away the new-plastic smell. Set it where your cat already walks by, a few feet from the food bowl and away from the litter box.
Fill it with water but leave the pump off. Keep the old bowl out as usual. Drop a treat or two near the base so checking it out feels like a good thing.
Plug it in and let it run. Try not to switch it on and off. A mat or towel underneath softens any hum. Praise or treat your cat for sniffing or drinking.
Once your cat is drinking from Purl, move the old bowl a little farther away. Put it away only when your cat uses the fountain every day.
Some cats take a couple of weeks, and a few will always like a bowl better. That's okay. Keep fresh water available either way, and if Purl isn't a fit, you have 30 days to send it back.
Rinse weekly. Swap the filter. That's it.
Any fountain gets slimy if it's ignored. Purl comes apart in a few pieces, so keeping it clean takes a few minutes.
Tip: on the Clear version, you can see when it's time for a rinse.
Bowl, faucet, or Purl?
A bowl sits still. The tap needs you. A basic fountain works, but it's rarely something you'd want on display. Here's how they compare.

Questions, answered
What if my cat won't use it?
Most cats need a few days. Start with it switched off next to the old bowl, then turn it on and leave it running (see the first-week plan above). Some cats take a couple of weeks, and a few always prefer a bowl. If Purl isn't a fit, reach out within 30 days.
Is it loud?
You'll hear a soft trickle of moving water. That sound is part of what draws cats in. If the pump starts to hum louder, the water is usually low; top it up to the MAX line.
How often do I clean it?
We suggest a rinse about once a week, and replacing the filter regularly (see the included guide). On the Clear version, you can see when it's due.
How often do I refill it?
It depends on how much your cat drinks. Check the water line daily and top up before it reaches MIN. Change the water regularly, just like a bowl.
How is it powered?
By USB (5V/1A). A USB cable is included; plug it into any phone charger or USB wall adapter (adapter not included).
Is it big enough for my home?
At 1.8 L it's sized for 1–2 indoor cats. For more cats or a bigger home, the 2-pack lets you set up two rooms.
Can dogs use it?
A small dog can, but it's designed for cats. For larger dogs, it's too small.
How long does shipping take?
We pack and ship within 1–3 business days. Most orders then arrive 7–15 business days after they ship, with tracking.
What if it's not for us?
Reach out within 30 days and we'll make it right.
